Our journey: building a connected community

At Helping Hands Community Services, our inspiration comes from a simple belief: every person deserves support, connection, and the opportunity to thrive. We noticed that many members of our Hobart community, including our valued seniors, faced challenges like mental health struggles, social isolation, and limited access to wellness programs. We wanted to create a space where people could come together, learn, grow, and make a real difference—not just for themselves, but for others around them. Our big dream is to build a strong, connected network where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered. We envision a place where wellness, education, and volunteerism go hand in hand—a community where people uplift one another, share knowledge, and work together to create lasting positive change across Tasmania, ensuring everyone can meet new friends and stay healthy and active.

Empowering lives: who we help & our impact

We focus on supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges, social isolation, or limited access to wellness programs. This includes our valued seniors seeking social connection and opportunities to stay active. Through our health and wellness workshops, mental health awareness sessions, community fitness programs, volunteer opportunities, and support groups, we aim to empower people, build confidence, and create meaningful connections. We help everyone thrive, grow, and contribute to a stronger, caring community right here in Hobart, improving overall wellbeing and fostering greater community participation.
